'High Level Comfort’ – Ventilation & solar control in high rise buildings
This CPD aims to discuss ventilation and solar control in high rise buildings. Topics covered include the psychological and physiological benefits of ventilation and solar control, how to optimise ventilation for well-being, How to create an optimal balance between air quality, thermal comfort, visual comfort and acoustic comfort by combining natural ventilation, external sun protection and night-cooling and how to overcome the challenges of high-rise living building design.
By the end of the CPD you should have a greater understanding of:

• Aesthetic canopy and façade systems
• Why solar control and ventilation is important in high-rise living
• How buildings optimised for well-being can have a positive impact on occupants
• Ventilation and solar control system types and ventilation strategies 

Outdoor Concepts, Creating the New Normal
The CPD will discuss the impact COVID19 has had on society and the way we view and design spaces. The COVID19 pandemic has kick started a new interconnection with the natural world. The connection between the inside and outside has given a new perspective on the physiological and psychological benefits of being outside and connecting the external space with internal spaces. The evolution of man and nature meant we as humans are connected to the outside, it is in our DNA.

CIBSE Accredited CPD: 
'Ventilation Strategies; Today's Challenges, Tomorrow's Solutions'
This CPD aims to discuss the importance of ventilation and solar control in our buildings and will cover the following;

• The psychological and physiological benefits of ventilation and solar control in our buildings.
• How to optimise ventilation for well-being and create an optimal balance between air quality, thermal comfort, visual comfort and acoustic comfort by combining natural ventilation, external sun protection and purge ventilation.
• The challenges involved in developing ventilation strategies in our buildings whilst also adhering to regulations such as Part F and BB101.

By the end of the CPD, you should have a greater understanding of:

• Aesthetic canopy and façade systems
• Why solar control and ventilation is important in high-rise apartments, schools, student accommodation and data centres
• How buildings optimised for well-being can have a positive impact on occupants
• Aerodynamic principles including Physical Free Area, K-Factors and Discharge Co-efficient
